Why This Recipe Works

Here’s a little fun fact about this recipe. It is the very first recipe I ever posted on this blog in September of 2010. Two years later, in 2012, I reposted it because the first round of photos OHMYGOSH they were terrible. (Wanna see?) And now here I am, reposting again because while I thought the second round of photos were amazing back in 2012, THEY WERE NOT.

I’m sure five years from now the photos in this post will make me melt, but this is what you get for now. The fact that this was my numero uno post and that I’ve felt the need to keep updating it should tell you exactly how much I love it.

I have made it approximately nine million bazillion times in my adult life and it never gets old. It is the best food to have hanging out in my fridge and it is also an incredible little dish to bring to parties along with a bag of tortilla chips.

Recipe Notes

  • This recipe is gluten free, but before you add the Italian dressing read the label! Some store-bought versions of the dressing contain wheat.
  • Allowing the salsa to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes is a must! The best scenario is to refrigerate overnight for optimal flavor!
  • I enjoy this salsa in so many different ways, but I’ll tell you my favorites! Solo with a sprinkling of salt as a light lunch. As a topping on a grilled chicken breast. As a dressing on a leafy salad. As a dip for tortilla chips.
  • Bring this with you to the next party you are invited to and you’ll be the star! Everyone will ask you for the recipe.
